Training Well Logging Analysis

 

OBJECTIVES

The method or technique by which subsurface formations are characterized relative to depth by measurements or observations on the rocks of borehole. This course would be expected for participants to know and recognize about types of log data, logging operation, and be able to analyze log data including qualitative and quantitative.

 

COURSE CONTENTS

  1. Preface: field operation, log data collecting, data processing, data delivering
  2. Types of logging: open-hole logging, cased-hole logging
  3. Types, work flow, usage, and log data presentation: radioactive log, electric log, sonic log, dip-meter
  4. Another data: side wall core (SWC), repeat formation tester (RFT)
  5. Basic interpretation of qualitative log: lithology interpretation, determination of reservoir fluid, determination of fluid boundary, depletion zone.
  6. Basic interpretation of quantitative log: measurement of porosity, measurement of reservoir shale volume, measurement of water and oil saturation in clean sand formation and shaly sand formation, weakness of interpretation

Training Electrical Transformer Testing and Maintenance

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course covers the theory, operation, maintenance and testing of power transformers and auxiliary equipment. Topics included are transformer fundamentals, transformer ratings, transformer cooling, nitrogen gas systems and insulation systems. The source concludes with in-depth discussions on transformer testing techniques. This course is applicable to technicians and engineers who need a sound understanding of power transformer operation and maintenance.

Students will learn safe and proper maintenance and testing procedures on pad-mounted, power transformers. The course covers transformers used in commercial and industrial power distribution systems, including oil and dry-type units. Larger power transformers used in utility applications are also covered.

Load and no-load tap changer maintenance, ac and dc testing, routine inspections and oil sampling and testing are covered in detail. Students will learn how to perform routine oil tests, and understand how to perform the major tests that are required. A variety of electrical test equipment from various manufacturer’s will be discussed.

 

Who Should Attend:

Field and shop technicians, field engineers, supervisors and others responsible for the testing and maintenance of power transformers rated 750kVA to 500MVA and 4.16kV to 500kV.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This electrical circuit breakers-maintenance training course will discuss application, installation, maintenance and testing issues related to low-, medium- and high-voltage switchgear and electrical circuit breakers. The course will provide the delegates with a solid understanding of switchgear theory and standards. The course will also make delegates aware of issues concerning the proper application, installation and maintenance of these types of equipment with a strong emphasis on safety. The course will cover a wide range of material starting from the basics and moving on to more complex issues.

This course provides an overview of power system design and theory, focusing on the power distribution electrical circuit breakers used in common utility, industrial, commerical and institutional applications. Basic electrical circuit breaker construction, electrical safety, and common circuit breaker maintenance techniques are the major components of this course.

When brought on-site, this course can be supplemented by an in-depth study of the specific circuit breaker models used at the client’s facility. Hands-on training is provided wherever practical.
